Which kind of system?
Off-grid — panels + battery + inverter carry everything, no mains at all. Size for your worst season, not your best; this calculator sizes this case.
Backup / hybrid — the grid is your main supply and the battery covers blackouts (the battery can also charge from the grid). You can size the battery for essential loads only and keep the panel array smaller.
Grid-tied — panels feed your loads while the grid is up, no battery, so it does not work during a blackout. Needs utility approval and metering arrangements.
Sizing guide only — a licensed installer (EPRA-certified in Kenya) must design wiring, protection and mounting. Insist on KEBS-certified components.
