Report cards, without the end-of-term arithmetic
End of term means the same crush for every class teacher in Kenya: dozens of report cards, each with marks to add up, grades to look up, a mean to work out, and remarks to write — usually by hand or in a fragile spreadsheet. This tool takes the arithmetic off your desk. Pick your curriculum — secondary on the KCSE 12-point scale, or primary on the CBC performance levels — type each learner's marks, and it sorts them into grades or levels, totals them, and computes the mean mark and the overall result for you. Then it lays it all out as a clean, professional report card you can print or send to parents. Doing a whole class? Fill the template once, paste your marksheet, and get a card for every learner — with your signature on each one, so you never sign forty forms by hand.
How it works

Questions
Does it work for both secondary and primary schools?
Yes — pick your curriculum at the top. Secondary (KCSE) grades on the 12-point scale (A to E) and works out a mean grade. Primary (CBC) grades on the four performance levels — Exceeding (E.E.), Meeting (M.E.), Approaching (A.E.) and Below Expectation (B.E.) — and works out an overall level. Switching modes re-grades the same marks; your typed data isn't lost.
What grading scale does secondary (KCSE) mode use?
The widely-used Kenyan 12-point scale (A 80+, A- 75, B+ 70, B 65, B- 60, C+ 55, C 50, C- 45, D+ 40, D 35, D- 30, E below 30). Each subject's grade is worked out from its mark, and the mean grade is worked out from the average of the grade points — the same way schools do it. If your school uses different bands, you can still type in the grade you want.
How does primary (CBC) mode grade learners?
On the CBC performance levels most primary schools use on the report card: E.E. Exceeding (80–100), M.E. Meeting (65–79), A.E. Approaching (50–64) and B.E. Below Expectation (0–49). Each learning area's level is worked out from its mark, and an overall level comes from the mean mark. Cut-offs differ a little between schools, so every level stays editable — just type the one you want.
Does it work out the totals and the overall result?
Yes. As you enter each mark, the tool sorts it into a grade or level, adds up the total, and computes the mean mark and the overall grade or level automatically. You don't do any of the arithmetic — you just type the marks.
What about position in class — does CBC rank learners?
CBC deliberately moves away from ranking learners, so primary mode leaves position blank by default. If your school still records a position you can type it in; in secondary mode you enter it yourself (e.g. 5 of 42) once you've ranked the class in your mark book.
Can I do a whole class at once instead of one card at a time?
Yes. Switch "Report for" to Whole class, fill the template once (school, term, teacher names and signatures), then paste your marksheet straight from Excel or Google Sheets — a Name column, optional Adm/Position/Remark columns, then one column per subject, one learner per row. The tool builds a clean report card for every learner and prints them all, each on its own page, with your signatures on every card.
Can I add the teacher's signature?
Yes — sign once with your finger or mouse (or upload a scan) for the class teacher and the head teacher, and it prints on the report. In whole-class mode the same signatures are replicated on every learner's card, so you don't sign dozens of forms by hand.
Is the data saved anywhere?
No. Everything is typed and computed in your browser — no marks are sent to our servers. When you're done, download the report as a PDF to print or share.
