  • Four sections: Listening (around 30 min), Reading (60 min), Writing (60 min, 2 tasks), Speaking (11 to 14 min interview).
  • Scored 0 to 9 per section in half-bands. The overall band is the average, rounded to the nearest half. Universities commonly want 6.0 to 7.0 overall.
  • Fee in Kenya: roughly KSh 30,000 to 31,500 (IELTS for UKVI is higher). Verify current on the official site.
  • Test cities (British Council): Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru, Nyeri, Meru, Kisii, Kakamega. Formats include paper, computer and online.

Register and prepare
