Phillips Curve Museum
The textbook Phillips curve is a clean downward slope: less unemployment, more inflation. In reality the curve’s shape changes radically across decades and countries — sometimes vertical, sometimes flat, sometimes outright upward. We show you a scatter of inflation vs unemployment for one episode. You name the country and decade. Eight rounds.
How a round works
- Eight scatter plots, drawn from 14 real country-decade episodes.
- Each plot: 10-12 annual points. X-axis is unemployment, Y-axis is CPI inflation.
- Pick the matching country-decade from four options. Submit to reveal.
- Every answer comes with a short explanation of the macro regime.
