Free Sales Dashboard for SMEs (Excel) — best-sellers, margins, KPIs

Knowing you sold a lot isn't the same as knowing what made money. This free dashboard shows both: log each sale and it works out your total sales, your actual profit (using each product's cost), your margin, your best-selling products, and how your sales move month to month.

What's inside

  • Total sales, profit and margin at a glance

  • Best-sellers by revenue, units and profit (with data bars)
  • Monthly sales trend chart
  • Formulas locked; type only the yellow cells

The tabs

  • Start Here (guide)
  • Products
  • Sales
  • Dashboard

Yellow cells only. You type in the yellow cells; the rest are locked formulas. Gridlines are off and it prints clean on A4.

List your products once with their selling and cost prices. Then log each sale — product, quantity, and the price it actually sold at (so discounts are captured honestly). The Dashboard gives you total sales, total profit, margin and transaction count, a best-sellers table with data bars, and a monthly sales trend. Because profit uses your product cost, a big sale at a deep discount won't fool you.

It's the analytics layer a shop owner actually asks for — what's selling, what's making money, and which way the trend points — with the maths done for you and the formulas locked. Opens in Excel or Google Sheets; keep it on your phone and log sales as they happen.

When you'd rather sales tracked themselves, Biashara Yangu records sales by voice or photo and keeps this exact picture for you, free.

Frequently asked questions

How is profit calculated on each sale?

Profit = quantity × (selling price − the product's cost price). You set each product's cost once on the Products tab, so even when you discount a sale the profit stays accurate.

Does it show my best-selling products?

Yes. The dashboard ranks products by units sold, revenue and profit, with data bars so the top performers stand out immediately.

Can I see monthly trends?

Yes — set the year on the dashboard and the monthly sales table and chart show how each month compares, so you can spot your peaks and slow seasons.
