Enter each cost once: land preparation, seed, planting and top-dressing fertiliser, spraying and chemicals, labour, harvesting and transport. Set your acreage (in acres, with the hectare equivalent shown), your expected yield in 90kg bags per acre and the price per bag. The calculator totals the cost, the revenue and the profit, both per acre and for the whole plot.

Because every figure is a yellow input feeding a locked formula, you can test a scenario in seconds: a cheaper fertiliser, a better price, a lower yield. Frequently asked questions

Is the basic version free?

Yes. The basic maize budget calculator is free to download and keep. The premium upgrade, with break-even and a printable budget, is an optional KES 500.

How is profit per acre calculated?

Total revenue (expected bags per acre times price per bag) minus total cost per acre. Every cost line you enter is summed and divided across your acreage, so the per-acre figure is honest.

Does it handle hectares?

Yes. Enter your land in acres and the sheet shows the hectare equivalent (1 acre is about 0.4047 hectares) so you can plan in either unit.
